In Pursuit of Perfection

Mexican artist, Rodolfo Escalera, was committed to the attainment of perfection in his oil paintings. He would spend countless hours researching his next piece. Painting with 00 paintbrushes with oil paint on canvas, his goal was to capture life as the human eye saw it. The image portrayed here is of the Aztec Calendar and the Mexican Eagle. Escalera went to a taxidermist to purchase an actual eagle feather so he could replicate it as precisely as possible.
